BICO® scrim

Fiberglass scrim (E-glass type) specially designed for the reinforcement and dimensional stabilization, by laminating, of industrial products;

BICOscrim

BICOscrim fiberglass scrim is specially designed for the reinforcement of industrial products that need a substantial improvement of their mechanical properties, being the element that guarantees a high tensile strength and perfect control of the elasticity of the finished material.

This fiberglass scrim is made by a technological process known worldwide as "laid scrim", through which the continuous filament glass yarns are laid down in an open mesh structure and the bonding between longitudinal warp yarns and transverse weft yarns is made by chemical welding.

Using the principle described above, BICOscrim fiberglass scrim has the advantage of being at least 20% thinner than a woven mesh and is suitable to be included in a laminating process characteristic of the production of materials composed of two or more laminated layers, such as: roofing membranes, synthetic membranes, roofing underlay, thermo reflective aluminum foils, thermal insulation materials and other materials that tend to break easily (nonwoven materials, foils, films, papers ...).

BICOscrim

In addition, the products from the BICOscrim range have the same mechanical properties as: tensile strength or elongation at break, both longitudinally (in the direction of warp yarns) and in the transverse direction (in the direction of weft yarns). This property offers high dimensional stability to the finished product in which our fiberglass scrim is integrated and a uniform impregnation in the laminating process.

BICOscrim products can be customized to perfectly fit on the requirements of industrial application that need to be reinforced. Our main objective is to offer reinforcement solutions specially designed to meet the needs of our customers.

The BICO team looks forward to new challenges and will work with pleasure to develop a product that meets your requirements.

FIELD OF USE

  • THE REINFORCEMENT

    The reinforcement, by lamination, of industrial products (nonwoven materials, underlays, films, papers), used both in industrial and in civil buildings, such as: EPDM membranes, synthetic membranes, roofing and facade membranes, roofing underlay (vapour barriers, vapour control underlay), thermo reflective aluminum foils, flooring materials, thermal insulation materials and other materials that tend to break easily, substantially improving the mechanical properties of the finished product;
  • PANELS REINFORCEMENT

    reinforcement of thermal insulation panels intended for indoor or outdoor use in functional constructions, made of various materials (e.g. concrete, plasterboard, mortar, EPS ...);
  • PACKAGING INDUSTRY

    dimensional stabilization and reinforcement of packaging industry products;
  • SELF-ADHESIVE TAPES

    manufacture of self-adhesive fiberglass mesh tape, used to strengthen the joints of drywall panels and to correct and prevent cracks in the walls and ceilings.

BICOscrim ADVANTAGES

  • high dimensional stability (guarantees the same strength and elongation, both longitudinally and transversely);
  • excellent flatness that allows an uniform impregnation in the laminating process;
  • it is at least 20% thinner than a woven mesh;
  • suitable for manufacturing processes that require a fine finishing of materials and large quantities of fiberglass scrim;
  • reduced elongation in the transverse direction (in the direction of weft yarns);
